Plus, a spectacular northern lights display this week.
The weather, currently.

Mostly Sunny with Clouds Later
Get ready for sunny skies and a high of about 82. Yet again, clouds will be making an appearance later in the day, so soak up that sunshine before evening hits. Winds will remain low, making it the perfect day to go catch the sunset at a park—or on your balcony/rooftop if you’ve got one of those.
I will be enjoying the pleasant weather in my hammock with a book and probably an overpriced iced oat milk latte. If you struggle with a coffee shop addiction, I stand with you. Soon-ish, though, it’ll be cozy-up-inside-with-some-hot-tea weather. So, enjoy the iced lattes while you can!
What you need to know, currently.
There was a spectacular display of northern lights — aurora borealis — on Tuesday, caused by a direct hit from particles sent Earthward from a solar explosion.
We’re in the middle of a multi-year peak of activity on the sun, so northern lights should be more common than in previous years. And the best time to see them is during the fall and winter, when the temperatures aren’t yet too cold, and the nights are getting nice and long.
One of my favorite websites, spaceweather.com, will keep you up-to-date on upcoming chances to see the aurora.
