Warm n’ Sunny

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! This Monday will bring us a high of 79 with clear skies and low winds. How delicious! Temperatures are rising a bit from these past couple of autumn days, but the fall vibes are strong and not going anywhere.

Have you had a pumpkin spice latte yet? Or a pumpkin-flavored anything? Do you think the pumpkin craze is overrated? It may be, but it also might not be because pumpkin-flavored things (I’ve realized this year) are delightful. Give in!!!! Taste a pumpkin!!!!

What you need to know, currently.

One of the best climate strategies is returning stolen land to Indigenous people — this is what climate justice looks like.

This year, in advance of Indigenous Peoples Day, the NDN Collective has launched a Just Transition fund to help build technical capacity for frontline groups to continue the #landback fight.

Indigenous people already protect the vast majority of the world’s biodiversity, with technologies such as prescribed fire and responsible resource harvesting. It’s time for the rest of society to follow their lead.
