We’ve got more of the same warm and sunny weather coming our way with a high of 83 on Friday and high temps in the mid-70s for the rest of the weekend. Could you ask for anything better?
Take advantage of this clear sky, low wind, and delightfully warm weekend before things take a turn for the cold 🥶. We’re already in autumn, but it feels like the seasonal tide is truly turning as we approach this coming week. Are you feeling the autumn vibes? I, for one, am dropping leaves and making room for some future blooms.
What you need to know, currently.
Since the Biden Administration announced the American Climate Corps (ACC) almost a month ago, over 42 thousand people have submitted an interested sign-up form. The sign-ups account for more than double the 20k jobs available in the first year of the ACC.
According to the White House, two-thirds of those who submitted are between the ages of 18 and 35, signaling that young Americans are excited about working on climate.
The American Climate Corps is a modern reimagining of New Deal-era concepts, with a focus on training young Americans in clean energy and climate resilience fields.
The idea behind a Civilian Climate Corps comes from youth climate and environmental justice activists organizing. You can read more about the Climate Corps here.
Since the American Climate Corps was announced 3 weeks ago, 42,000 people have submitted an interest form!!!
That's more than double the 20k jobs available in the first year of the ACC. People are ready for more green good-paying jobs!
